Come On Let's Twist!

Sorry, I couldn't help myself but whenever I think of the Twister ruler, I think of the song.

On Feb. 2nd from 10:00-12:00, Aimee of Salt Marsh Designs will be demonstrating how to use the Twister ruler to turn a quilt top that looks like this:

Into a whirly giggle top like this:

If you want to participate, you will need to make your quilt top (like the one in the first photo) before the meeting.

Here are your cutting directions:

Squares: cut 10", finish 9.5" (the perfect use of layer cake precuts)
Border: cut 6", finish 5.75"
a crib size quilt would be made from 12 squares  (3 blocks wide, 4 blocks down)

or, if you would prefer a mini quilt or pillow, you can use the little Twister
Squares:  cut 5", finish 4.5" (charm pack size!)
Border:  cut 3", finish at 2 1/2"

Keep in mind that the twister ruler will shrink your finished size down by about 30%.  We will  have a couple of Twister rulers and one Little Twister for use at the meeting.  Peg is going to look into pricing them as well for people who want to buy them and we will get that information to you as soon as possible.

We will need volunteers to bring cutting mats, rotary cutters, irons and ironing boards, extension cords and power strips.  Please email me (Amy) if you can do any of those things.

Samantha Russell has secured our meeting spot at the Fremont Public Library, Jackie Bernier Drive, Fremont, NH.  The phone number for the library is 603-895-9543.  There is plenty of parking and the meeting room is right inside the door.

Would anyone like to volunteer to coordinate refreshments for the meeting?  Please get in touch with me if you would.

And finally, don't forget to bring your completed Madrona Road Challenge pillow covers.  We will vote on our favorite and award a prize!
