Our membership to NEQM has been renewed for 2022.
Committee Reports:
February minutes
were approved.
Treasurer’s
report was given.
~We’re looking for some ways to generate income for the guild. Colleen will check with the MQG on rules/guidelines for 501(c)(3) organizations.
Programs:
Looking
for a Program volunteer coordinator to assist in coordinating program events
(i.e. workshops, speakers, etc.). Please
let Patty know if you’d like to volunteer.
Retreat –
Patty spoke with Robert at the
Franciscans in Kennebunk for fall dates.
There is no availability for Oct or Nov for the full guild however; we
are on a waitlist. We’ll stay on that
list until we know who many spots are available. In the meantime we’ll reserve for Spring
2023.
Nancy P mentioned St Methodios Faith and Heritage Center in Contoocook may be a possible option. She will send the board contact information.
There was some discussion around a one day sew-in possibly in May in West Newbury. Some in-person social time (with masks). Patty will reach out to our contact to confirm. An insurance form will likely be required.
If we have a warming trend for our April 2nd meeting we may try to meet outside in Kingston. Details will be sorted out well ahead of the meeting.
Social Media – We’re looking for someone to manage our Facebook and Instagram pages. Please contact Patty if you’d like to volunteer.
New
business:
Diane S has suggested we do a
Lottery Block. She has sent out a link
to the instructions for the Missouri Start Disappearing Pinwheel 2 Churn Dash. The blocks are $1 each. Mail your blocks and your money to
Diane. When she has received all of the
blocks she’ll pick a name and the blocks go to the winner who will sew them
together!
Blocks should be in hot colors (red, orange etc).
Anniversary quilt – we’ll discuss in more detail
in a future meeting. Diane and Kate are
coordinating.
Quilt Con 2023 will be held in Atlanta, GA (February) and 2024 in Raleigh, NC.
Ukraine
humanitarian assistance
– there are several quilt organizations that are supporting efforts to bring
relief to the Ukrainians. Here are a
few. Their donation efforts may be different but funds will be donated (i.e.
purchase patterns or donate directly). If you know of others, please let the members
know.
