10th Anniversary quilt

No more 12 ½” blocks are needed, star blocks will fill any gaps in. Signature blocks can be embroidered or written. Time for completion: blocks done by September and, have the quilt completed by December.

Retreat

Patty has booked us at the Franciscans April 27-30, 2023.  Between now and then we’ll

pull together the swag that has been collected.

Charity

Carol to contact Sasha for information on the current inventory.

Donations:

Diane recommended we pick one charity per year and send all quilts to the same.

Project LINUS (national) accepts donations of quilts and blankets (knit/crochet) which go to children in need.

We haven’t made many donations recently.  Need to keep a variety of sizes on hand for donation opportunities outside of our annual commitment.

New business

Potential upcoming events for us to participate and sell raffle tickets:

Kingston Days (on the Plains) – usually the 1st week of August

Topsfield Fair

Strawberry Banke – July   Brenda will get more information and share

Newcastle – Brenda will get more information and share

 Memory quilt

Suggestions were taken on making a Healing Hearts quilt for a member’s family member who is recovering from an illness.  It would be 12 ½” heart blocks. We have Kaffe white that can be used as background but any “reads as white” fabric can be used.

Monthly activities

In this meeting Diane encouraged us to play with digital imagery after she took a class with Susie Monday.  It was fun and provided an opportunity to be creative with color, movement and texture.  She presented examples of what she uses to create her own designs. Diane is collecting photos of us playing with our salad veggies using the apps we used during the class. The possibilities are endless! Please submit them to her by June 15.  For those who could not join please refer to the information that was most recently attached to a June 5 email from Colleen.

July – we have the Stratham Library from 9-12.  Left, Right Center and Bring your favorite: Pattern were moved to July.  Don’t forget to bring 3 FQ’s and a pattern,

August – Kingston Library closes at 1PM. 9:30-12:30. Arrive early to set up

Updates on suggestions are:

1.    Ellen Miller - couture embellishments – she is local and charges $30. Interest in this class may be low.

2.    Discussion on fabric dying Dianne previously taught. This can be messy and we would need access to water. MaryLee takes art classes at the Methodist Church in Portsmouth. She is looking into possibly renting the church for a day long workshop in September meeting.  The cost is around $200.

3.    Noodle head bag class (large & small) possibly in November – Barbara M would be our instructor.  We would have some pre-work ahead of the class and we would finish it up in our meeting.  We would need to decide on straps (leather, etc), rivets, recessed zipper and pockets.  Specific/details will be shared to the group.

4.    Giucy Giuce – Brenda received pricing and class information.

1.    6-8 hour class - $1,000

2.    Half day - $750

3.    Lecture/trunkshow - $550

4.    Travel fee - $250

5.    Per diem - $55/day

Classes include (not limited to):

1.    Tiny piecing

2.    Modern foundation piecing

3.    Mystery medallion quilt

4.    EPP moonstone quilt

5.    Vintage quilt pattern

6.    Photography branding

If we move forward with a day activity we may include the Maine guild.
