January Meeting Recap
The chapter's January meeting was held at the Durham Public Library. Our President gave a tour of the Moden Quilt Guild website and all of the information and knowledge available to members. Tutorials, videos, patterns, inspiration, how-to’s, and more. A truly valuable resource.
Yearly membership fees are now due! $50/year, which includes membership in the national organization. Please send payment to our treasurer. Subscriptions not renewed will be deleted from the membership list in March.
Presentation:
The Program Co-Chair showed us how to deconstruct and explode a traditional block to create a modern block. This new block could then be used as inspiration for a modern quilt. Attendees then broke out to work on their own mini-design boards to explode a traditional block of their choosing. Attendees were encouraged to complete their blocks at home and bring them to the February meeting.
Show & Tell:
Diane with her original art piece, inspired by wind.
Donna displaying “Beautifully Done”
Theresa’s Christmas stockings
Marylee with a couple of past chapter challenges
Guest Sally displaying her quilted handbag. (And Sally joined our chapter!!!)
Durham Public Library will have a display of our chapter’s quilts from Mid-January to the end of February. Please come view our art!
Our next meeting will be the first Saturday of February, February 4th, 10:00 a.m. at the Portsmouth Public Library. 175 Parrott Avenue, Portsmouth NH. Please come join us. All are welcome!
